A master-planned community near the Research Triangle Park, Brightleaf at the Park, still has
900 single-family and townhouse lots to be built on. Brightleaf is near the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and Sherron Road in Durham. Original plans called for the development of 2,866 units over 14 phases. Last summer, SunTrust Banks Inc. took back ownership of its remaining developed lots and undeveloped land from Brightleaf’s developer, Rhein Interests of Cincinnati. Mountain Real Estate Capital and L Star Management have acquired the land and plan to continue marketing the property to local and national builders.
